Privacy Policy
Moire (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information Moire collects, how it is used, and your rights in relation to it.
Information We Collect
Moire is designed to work with your existing photo services. We do not collect, store, or transmit your photos or personal media to any server we operate.
The app may collect limited diagnostic and usage information, including:
- Crash reports — anonymised crash logs to help identify and fix bugs.
- App usage analytics — aggregate, non-identifiable data about which features are used (e.g. which providers are configured). This data contains no personal information and cannot be linked back to you.
How We Use Information
Any diagnostic or analytics data collected is used solely to improve the reliability and quality of Moire. It is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Third-Party Services
Moire connects to third-party photo services on your behalf, including Apple Photos, Google Photos, Facebook, Amazon S3, and local folders. Your use of these services is governed by their respective privacy policies. Moire does not store credentials for these services beyond what is required for authentication (see Data Storage below).
When you connect a cloud service, Moire stores OAuth tokens securely in your Mac’s Keychain. These tokens remain on your device and are never transmitted to our servers.
Data Storage
All sync configuration, event logs, and OAuth tokens are stored locally on your device. Moire does not operate a cloud backend and does not sync your settings or logs to any external server.
Data Retention
Moire retains data only as long as it is needed for the app to function:
- Sync event logs are stored locally and can be cleared from within the app at any time.
- OAuth tokens are removed when you disconnect a provider or uninstall the app.
- Crash and analytics data submitted to Apple’s App Store Connect is subject to Apple’s privacy policy.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access — review the data stored locally by the app at any time by inspecting the app’s data container.
- Delete — remove all app data by uninstalling Moire. Provider connections can be individually removed from within the app.
- Opt out — disable analytics in your macOS System Settings under Privacy & Security > Analytics & Improvements.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of Moire after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
